Printble.biz.id – Chief Health Officer of PT Sompo Insurance Indonesia, Irfan Firdaus, emphasized that maintaining employee health can enhance productivity and facilitate business operations.
During a Media Gathering event in Jakarta on Monday, Irfan stated that the company is currently focusing on health insurance for employees. The goal is to ensure that employees feel more secure when facing high healthcare costs.
"Right now, we are focusing on health insurance for employees because we realize the importance of ensuring that employees can feel at ease when dealing with high medical expenses," he said at the Media Gathering in Jakarta on Monday.
A report from Willis Towers Watson on health trends for 2025 indicates that healthcare costs in Indonesia have continued to rise since the COVID-19 pandemic, reaching 19.4 percent.
This trend is expected to continue until 2026, with healthcare inflation remaining in double digits.
In response to this trend, Sompo Insurance has introduced a new health insurance scheme specifically for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
This program aims to enable small business owners to provide optimal health protection for their employees.
Sompo Insurance has been offering group health insurance services for companies, including MSMEs, since 2015.
With the right protection, employees no longer need to worry about high medical expenses or complex hospital procedures. If employees feel safe and healthy, they can focus on their work and contribute maximally to the company.
In addition to providing health cost protection, Sompo Insurance also conducts various health education programs such as wellness initiatives, health talks, and health awareness campaigns.
The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of health, enable early disease detection, and prevent health issues that could disrupt work.
To make it easier for MSMEs to access health insurance, Sompo Insurance offers this product through more than 25 marketing office networks across Indonesia.
Interestingly, companies purchasing this product can immediately use registered healthcare facilities without having to go through a six-month to one-year waiting period, as is common with most health insurance policies.
The requirement is simply to meet a minimum total premium of IDR 50 million per year or have at least 10 employees.
