Printable.biz.id – Ahead of Eid, KAI Logistics ensures the readiness of its shipping services, particularly for motorcycle shipments via KALOG Express.
Now, this service is equipped with insurance protection, allowing customers to feel safer and more comfortable when sending their motorcycles to their hometowns.
Heri Siswanto, Director of Operations at KAI Logistics, explained that during the peak of the homecoming season, the volume of shipments also increases, especially for motorcycle deliveries.
Many travelers choose to send their motorcycles in advance to make their mobility easier upon arrival in their hometowns.
As a service improvement measure, KAI Logistics now requires every motorcycle shipment to be insured.
"Motorcycles are sent by travelers to ensure their mobility in their hometowns. As part of our service enhancement efforts, customers can now enjoy a safer shipping experience with the introduction of insurance protection," he stated in a written announcement on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
Insurance Costs and Claim Procedures
This insurance is charged at 0.12% of the motorcycle's value being shipped. With this premium, customers receive compensation coverage in case of damage or loss during the shipping process.
The insurance service has been in effect since March 21, 2025, for all motorcycle shipping destinations. If any damage or loss occurs, customers can file a claim under the following conditions:
- If picking up the motorcycle at a service point, customers must inspect the motorcycle’s condition together with a staff member.
- If the motorcycle is delivered directly to the destination address, customers must file a claim with customer service within 24 hours after receiving the motorcycle.
- Claims will be processed within a maximum of 30 days.
Future Service Developments
Currently, the insurance service is only available for motorcycle shipping transactions made directly at service points. However, in the future, KAI Logistics plans to expand this service to be accessible through the KAI Logistics TRAX application.
"KAI Logistics continuously strives to improve its services to meet customer needs. Especially during the Eid homecoming period, we hope to play a strategic role in supporting a safe, comfortable, and smooth journey," he added.
With the introduction of insurance protection, customers no longer need to worry when shipping their motorcycles. The homecoming journey will be more peaceful and worry-free!
